Learning Programme Manager: Schools and Formal Learning

Maternity Cover (Until January 2019)

Full Time
£27,000 p/a

The Jewish Museum London is looking for an engaging and expert museum educator to join us as the Learning Programme Manager: Schools and Formal Learning. This is an exciting time to join the Learning Team as we expand the remit of our work. This post is temporary until January 2019 to cover a maternity cover post.

The Jewish Museum London Learning Programme is designed to build interfaith and intercommunity understanding and respect, leading students to appreciate the importance of difference within our society. This work is enabled through learning about Judaism as a living faith. We aim to develop creativity, empathy, critical thinking and communication skills. We challenge prejudice and stereotypes and ensure our workshops meet curriculum requirements across a range of subject areas.

The Learning Programme Manager: Schools and Formal Learning line manages the Learning Officers and works very closely with the Head of Learning to create and deliver museum-wide learning strategy. You will work as part of the team to deliver, develop and extend the learning programme for primary and secondary schools, as well as HE and FE opportunities. You will be responsible for maintaining and increasing the consistent and expert delivery of the museum’s award-winning Discovering Judaism, Exploring History, Investigating the Holocaust and Revealing Arts programmes and act as a duty manager to the Head of Learning with a responsibility for the wellbeing and safety of the Learning Team and its schools.

Deadline for applications is 5pm, Tuesday 8 May.
