Discover the story of Jewish life in the UK from the Norman conquest to the 21st century.
Our world-class collections of Judaica and Jewish social history include ceremonial art, prints and drawings, objects reflecting everyday home and working life, ad photographic and oral history archives.
The collections include particularly rare items within the Designated collection of Jewish ceremonial art, which is considered among the finest in the world. Highlights include a 16th century Venetian synagogue ark and magnificent silver Torah ornaments from the Great Synagogue in Duke’s Place, City of London, destroyed during the Blitz.
We hold regular events and workshops which highlight objects from our collection. Every day from 3.30 - 3.45pm (excl. Fridays) you can discover the story behind an object in our 'Spotlight Spiel' talks. Enjoy hearing from our volunteers as they put a different object under the spotlight.
